For the right choice of sketchbook, the material with which you plan to draw or paint is essential: watercolor paints, acrylic paints, pencils, pastels, etc. Choosing the right surface is very important to the quality and final appearance of your artwork. For watercolor, tempera or gouache techniques for example, the paper that is suitable should be of a higher density. For painting with oil and acrylic paints, the paper must be made of special oil-resistant fibers, with the relief of the sheets resembling the fabric of a canvas. Nowadays, there is a large selection of sketchbooks with different sizes, shapes, number of sheets and paper structure. Very important for the paper is also its immutability, because if it is unsuitable, the probability that it will turn yellow over time is high.
