Sunstone – Vitamin C for the Soul
Like most semi-precious stones, Sunstone has been known to humanity since ancient times. Some of the earliest records date back to the Native Americans in Oregon, where stone deposits were found. It is said that the indigenous people traded with the crystal, and pieces of it were found in pouches placed next to the bodies of the deceased.
Its widespread use in the United States began in the early 1900s. Tiffany & Company started using Sunstone as an accent in its world-famous jewelry. They claimed ownership of the rights to the reserves. Years later, the jewelry chain withdrew its claims.
In the 1980s, interest in the crystal rose again, and Oregon declared it a national treasure.
However, the United States is not the only Sunstone pioneer. In the 1800s, semi-precious stone mining began on the shores of Lake Baikal in Russia. Some settlements in the region still trade in Sunstone.
Types of Sunstone
The colors vary depending on the crystal’s structure. It can be found in yellow, light orange, and red. The copper particles in Sunstone’s composition often give it golden and pink hues. The crystal can also be found in greenish or blue colors.
Sometimes the same stone can be pink on one side and orange on the other.
Healing and Mystical Properties
Like other semi-precious stones, this sun-kissed crystal also has healing properties. In alternative medicine, it is used to cleanse negative and intrusive thoughts.
Just as the sun kisses the earth, this stone can bring spring to an emotional winter. Sunstone can bring light to the dark parts of the mind where fear, anxiety, and sorrow dwell.
If you are going through a tough time and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel, a piece of Sunstone will help you escape depression with its gentle and warm energetic vibrations. Get a sunstone today and give your soul some vitamin C.
Sunstone is known to boost confidence and optimism.
People of the past realized the power of this magical stone and used it to attract luck, wealth, and prosperity.
It is said that the Vikings used it for navigation because of its direct connection to the sun.
In ancient Greece, it was a symbol of the god of light.
Zodiac Signs and Chakras
Sunstone is considered a traditional crystal for Leo zodiac signs.
As a guardian of the navel chakra, the stone can influence this part of the body, but it is also known to have beneficial effects on the solar plexus chakra.
Price
The good news is that Sunstone is easy to get even on a budget. The price varies depending on its color and transparency.
Typically, the cheapest crystals are yellow. As the color becomes more intense, its value increases. Some of its red varieties can reach up to 1,000 Euro.
